Koru Room
The children have continued to enjoy the music interest. They are still learning new songs and using the song choice board to direct their own play. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Lana’s sister Nola who played the piano accordion and guitar for us This has encouraged the children to explore with their own instruments and sound. They are developing an awareness of what different sounds things can make.
Kòpae Room
Check out what we have been up to on our group planning wall. The children have been very busy learning about all of the different vehicles that are around us. We have been learning some new songs including the morning train song. We have also learnt some new words in te reo Maori, Pahi – bus, Taraka – truck and Motoka – car. The children have shown so much confidence in sharing the knowledge they have. They have been able to share stories from home and also contribute to the interest.
Pikorua Room
The children have continued to enjoy acting out stories, This month has been busy making masks and costumes for the different stories and songs that we will be acting out. The children are still enjoying making up their own plays and share them with the room. They are mastering the skills to become effective actors. Their confidence continues to grow.
