JOHN STREET PRESCHOOL
John Street Preschool is situated in the heart of Blenheim, on Henry Street, close to the centre of town and easily accessible for parents and whānau. The team at John Street pride themselves on their large outdoor environment and well-resourced centre.
At John Street we cater for both part time and full time spaces. We are licensed for 60 children per day with up to 12 in our infant and toddler room. Our place is a spacious and nurturing environment that provides high quality care throughout our three aged based rooms. The mission at our place is to create a safe, welcoming environment that is fun, engaging, empowering and supports the hauora (wellbeing) of our tamariki. Our curriculum is rich in learning opportunities and experiences that support independence, self determination, mana and life long learners. The daily routines and rituals foster free exploratory play, interest development and learning with and alongside others.

UPTOWN PRESCHOOL
Uptown Preschool is based in Redwoodtown on Hospital Road, just minutes from town as well as our local Hospital.
We take pride in our calm and homely centre in which we recognize, celebrate and share the uniqueness each and every child brings.
Our curriculum is one which is based on equitable opportunities and positive learning experiences, in which kaiako support and empower tamariki through nurturing and responsive relationships and care. We promote positive engagement based on trust, respect and open communication, where we celebrate diversity. We encourage family/whānau involvement and value their immense contributions into our programme.

TE KUPENGA PRESCHOOL
Te Kupenga Preschool is an idyllic rural preschool set on the grounds of the Omaka Marae, five minutes from town. Although the preschool is situated on a Marae we are not a Kohanga Reo, we do however work to enhance and support each child’s unique identity, skills, and interests through a child-led programme. Where manaakitanga/respect, aroha/love, atawhai/kindness, and an understanding of each other’s whakapapa/genealogy provide the base for a happy and safe learning environment.
Children attending our preschool are provided with the time and space for uninterrupted play, the freedom to explore, interact with each other and the environment. We understand the risks of play and embrace them as learning opportunities. For us risky play is not about doing something dangerous, but about moving past uncertainty to try something exciting.
At Te Kupenga Preschool whanaungatanga and kotahitanga (relationships & working together as one) provide the foundation to children’s learning. This is enhanced by our whānau style environment where all of the tamariki, share the same space. This allows older children to learn leadership skills and feel a sense of pride in helping those younger than themselves. While the younger children look up to their older peers and if there are things they want to do but can’t quite yet, they soon learn that the older children can help.
