About us

In partnership with our families, whãnau and community, Blenheim Early Childhood Centres Inc (BECC) provide nurturing and enriching environments to extend children’s learning and development via our three Blenheim centres.

We provide stimulating, caring environments which foster independence - where each child is accepted and respected as a valued individual and positively encouraged in their endeavours.

We offer flexible hours and are generally open from Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 5.15pm.

Community-based: Not for Profit

We are a community-based “not-for-profit” organisation – so all profits go back into our three centres to maintain them to a high standard and keep them well-resourced. We are proud to say we have been providing quality childcare for over 30 years in Blenheim.

In much the same way as schools, BECC is governed by a committee of seven elected Board of Trustees members who are parents and caregivers of the children attending our centres. This ensures BECC has governance that appropriately reflects our community, its needs and desires.

In 2012 we won the ‘Large Business Award’ in the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. The awards enabled us to benchmark our performance and affirm for our team, families, and wider community, the quality of what we do.

Caring and qualified teachers

Our three centres create a welcoming and supportive environment by having well-qualified and experienced staff, and encouraging families and whãnau to contribute to aspects of the programme.

We have a strong commitment to providing high-quality staff, with 100% trained teachers across our centres.

Our teacher-to-child ratios are:

Under twos 1:4
Over twos 1:8

These ratios are lowered as activities and special needs demand.
