Community-based: Not for Profit
We are a community-based “not-for-profit” organisation – so all profits go back into our three centres to maintain them to a high standard and keep them well-resourced. We are proud to say we have been providing quality childcare for over 30 years in Blenheim.
In much the same way as schools, BECC is governed by a committee of selected Board of Trustees members who are parents and caregivers of the children attending our centres. This ensures BECC has governance that appropriately reflects our community, its needs and desires.
Caring and qualified teachers
Our three centres create a welcoming and supportive environment by having well-qualified and experienced staff, and encouraging families and whānau to contribute to aspects of the programme.
We have a strong commitment to providing high-quality teachers,
Our teacher-to-child ratios are:
Under twos 1:4
Over twos 1:8
These ratios are lowered as activities and special needs demand.
Meet our board of Trustees
The Board of Trustee Board’s responsibility is one of governance of the BECC. Our board meets once a month on a Tuesday evening with the AGM in March each year. A Board Members term is two years.
